This is very disturbing but I think it goes to mention that this and similar tactics are adopted outside of Texas or the traditional “conservative” states. I remember in my High School (and I heard it was escalated and made even worse afterwards) there was a Police Officer, fully armed, etc who was at the school full time and would arrest people for fights, etc. Granted I went to a suburban petit-bourgeois public school but particularly where there are areas of poverty (i.e. where students of color actually exist) there is definitely a pipeline of school-to-prison and the answer shouldn’t be increase police presence, it should be jobs programs, etc
